Projects we have built and operate

The clearest evidence of how Cigar Projects works is the work itself. The projects below were developed within our wider group and are operated day to day — shops that trade, a brand moving through production. Client projects will be published here as case studies once they can be shown with permission.

Cigar Shop Project · P.01

La Casa del Habano — Antigua

A La Casa del Habano boutique developed in Heritage Quay, the duty-free quarter of St. John’s, serving one of the busiest cruise destinations in the Eastern Caribbean.

The project combined the requirements of an international franchise with the realities of island retail: a walk-in humidor engineered for a tropical climate, a Cuban assortment planned in genuine depth, stock levels built around a pronounced seasonal cruise calendar, and supplier and shipping arrangements that keep a premium inventory reliable at long distance from source.

It is a working example of the questions we help clients answer in any shop project — what the humidor must do, how much inventory the business actually needs, and which procedures keep the shop trading to standard every day.

La Casa del Habano — St. Kitts

A sister boutique at Port Zante, Basseterre, developed for a retail environment where most customers arrive by ship and buying decisions happen within a short trading window.

The design of the offer reflected that: display and merchandising that make the range legible in minutes, credible Cuban depth for the serious buyer, duty-free pricing logic, and documented operating procedures so the shop runs to standard without daily oversight. Stock planning and replenishment were structured across the two island operations rather than shop by shop.

Together with Antigua, the project shows how one retail concept adapts to two different ports, footfalls and customer patterns — the kind of judgement that only comes from operating shops, not just planning them.

La Casa del Habano — Samnaun

A La Casa del Habano in Samnaun, the duty-free enclave high in the Swiss Alps — a completely different retail model from a Caribbean cruise port, built with the same operating discipline.

The boutique serves a year-round alpine destination and a European customer base that travels specifically to buy: the assortment carries genuine depth, including limited and regional editions, and the humidor is planned for a dry, high-altitude climate rather than a tropical one. Supply runs through Swiss bonded logistics, connecting the shop directly to our group’s specialist cigar logistics capability.

Between them, the three La Casa del Habano projects cover franchise development, duty-free retail, extreme climates at both ends of the scale, and cross-border supply — a practical foundation for any retail or hospitality assignment.

Cigar Branding & Development Project · P.04

Black Clover Cigars

Black Clover is a new premium cigar brand developed from a blank page — the complete product-development and brand-development process described on this site, applied to a brand of our own.

The work ran from positioning, naming and identity direction through product architecture: a disciplined first range of four vitolas — Corona, Robusto, Toro and Gordo — rather than a catalogue created before demand exists. The blend was developed with a Dominican production partner through structured sampling rounds: an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and a medium-strength profile matched to the intended market position.

Packaging followed the same commercial logic — traditional 20-count boxes in natural wood, premium without the money going into the box — alongside pricing structure, trade materials and a trade-first route to market. The first vitolas launch by the end of 2026.
